AWOL!

It has been a very long time since I last posted and to be honest I don't really have a good excuse. So all that I can say is sorry if you have been visiting and getting bored and thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog.

From today I will be posting at least every other day, and if I don't please feel free to chase me up LOL!

I have got lots to catch up on, but I would like to begin by telling you about August's fantastic offer. FREE SCRUMMY RIBBON....LOTS OF IT!

A Beautiful Silhouette

I met with the lovely ladies from my Stampers 10 group last week, and had a fantastic time. Firstly a big thank you to Jane for allowing us to meet at her beautiful home...and oh what a conservatory. I NEED one like that!! LOL! I really enjoy our meetings and the enthusiasm that these ladies have is so contagious!

We made a special project as it was our last meeting until January because I am off on my travels next week. We made 3 cards and a cute bag to put them in. The stamp set that we used was one of my favourites, Pocket Silhouettes.

The colours were totally from my comfort zone and I have to say look so yummy (and sound it too)! We used Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, Kraft and Whisper White cardstock and ink. Additional ink colours used were Creamy Caramel and Close to Cocoa.

For the bag and 1st card I clear embossed a silhouette onto whisper white cardstock, then sponged on creamy caramel and bashful blue ink. I have found that if you use small circular movements while sponging you get a better finish. To finish the image I stamped a second silhouette over the top in close to cocoa ink. I wiped over the image with a tissue to remove any ink that had built up on my embossed image. The effect in real life is stunning, and I am going to have to order myself a brayer now and take this technique a step further.

 

For the second card the leafy silhouette was partially outlined with a white gel pen which almost gives it a 3D look. The sentiment is from a level 1 hostess set - Best Yet. You could earn a hostess set for free (and product from the catalogue) by hosting a party or placing a qualifying order of £150 or more. I have a few dates available when I get back...from Saturday Dec.13th onwards. I am currently taking bookings for January and February, so take a look at my calendar and contact me to arrange a few hours of fun and creativity.

The final card uses Marvellous Markers to colour in the image. This silhouette is perfect for this technique, it is so pretty. The designer paper panels are also from a level 1 hostess set - designer paper sampler. The colour I used was kraft. I so wish that SU! would make more items in this colour, it is gorgeous. The ribbon is kraft taffeta.

I have a busy weekend ahead of me preparing for America and completing my errands. I am expecting the orders from Jenny's party and the Stampers 10 to arrive tomorrow, but will only be able to deliver/collect on Friday. My apologies for the delay but I will be taking my mum to visit my Auntie tomorrow in Chelmsford. She unfortunately had a heart attack on Monday and I would like to visit her before I leave. She is a very special lady who is always taking care of others, the least we can do is take care of her now.

I also have a party on Friday night at Lisa's home. You really must take a look at her blog, it is full of inspiration, with lots of tips, tricks and laughs along the way!

Well I will probably get back for one more visit before I leave, and I will post now and then from Orlando, Tampa and Las Vegas. I will be checking my email while I am away so this is the best way to contact me. I will still be able to place any orders online and answer any queries.

I tort I taw a puddycat (in a Tweety pie accent please!)

Firstly I must apologise for not posting for a long time...computer problems being the main reason. I also keep falling asleep during the day (I am so embarrassed!) and just thought that I was burning the candle at both ends. But one of my customers mentioned that I looked a bit pale and thought I might need iron supplements so I guess a doctors visit is in order.

So as long as I don't fall asleep over my keyboard I just had to post this really cute story that I found on another demonstrator's blog. Her Stampin' Up supplies kept disappearing and she couldn't figure out why; until....take a look here!

What a funny story...but what I want to know is where was 'Lizzie Blackhawk' taking the supplies...I hope she didn't eat them!

These cards are made using the gorgeous Pocket Silhouettes stamp set and some of the designer paper from the new Hostess Level 1 sampler pack. These particular colours are not available to buy and are only available by hosting a party (or placing a big order!)
