New Catalogue ILWS Blog Hop

Good Morning on this beautiful Sunday, how spoilt are we at the moment with this glorious weather!

Welcome to the new catalogue blog hop. Have you had a chance to take a look at the new catalogue yet...just WOW! My wish list is growing each time I have a browse.

If you are following the blog hop you probably arrived from Elizabeth's wonderful blog. I love the wreath card that she has made and didn't her launch look great!

I have made a couple of things with one of my favourite new stamp sets Forever Young.

 

 I needed a quick project as my Mum was taken into hospital last week so time is of a premium with the travelling to see her.

I had the pillow box left over from my last blog hop project and set about decorating it with the gorgeous cameo silhouettes. This would be perfect for a wedding favour.

One of the things that I love about being a demonstrator is taking part in card swaps with such amazing ladies. My postie hasn't delivered my package yet with all the swaps in but this is the card that I made. It uses Forever Young, Parlour Prints background stamp and the lace ribbon border punch. The little flowers on the tree are the scrap pieces left over after punching!

I have decorated the inside with an altered top note, and the flower on the corner is also a part of the lace ribbon border punch. The hardest thing is trying not to use this punch on everything!

ILWS Last Chance Blog Hop - The Old and a little bit of new!

Hello and welcome to the In Love With Stamping Last Chance Blog Hop. If you have hopped over from Vicky's blog it's great to see you, or you may have arrived here directly so be sure to stop by all of the other blogs on the hop. I will be spending my morning with a coffee (or two) and my laptop browsing the wonderful projects and inspiration.

My project today features the beautiful stamp set Simply Said which very sadly is on the retiring list. I have to confess that I haven't used this set for months and when I saw it on the list wasn't too worried BUT then I saw this lovely card and had to CASE it. So here it is with a new twist...

 

I have always leaned toward using pinks when playing with Simply Said but I love this take on it and will be sad to see it go now. The colours used are Bashful Blue, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla, with a touch of white embossing powder for the background. I completed the set with a double length pillow box in the same colours.

We had fun making these at my Stampers 10 meeting last night. Watch out for my new groups starting soon...I will post all of the details on here.

Gonna Be Hopping Like Crazy!!

Hi and welcome to the ILWS mini catalogue blog hop. Today 56 demonstrators from all around the UK have come together via the internet to bring you a wealth of inspiration from the fantastic new Spring/Summer 2011 mini catalogue.

If you have already had a bit of a hop then you probably would have arrived here from Kim's blog. Gorgeous cards!

Or maybe you have just arrived onto the blog hop, in which case you are going to want to grab a drink because you could be hopping around for a while!

One of my favourite things in the catalogue is the Springtime Vintage Suite which has co-ordinating designer paper, yummy ribbon, buttons, glitter and a beautiful stamp set.

My projects today are using that stamp set - Baby Blossoms. Think old fashioned summer tea parties in the garden, pretty fabric bunting moving gently in the breeze, yummy cupcakes on the table. These are the images that came to mind when I first saw this suite.

 

I then decided to have a play at stamping on a mirror that I have had for ages. It is only a cheapy from Ikea but I really like the effect and will have to play some more.

Of course I had to add some of the pretty pearls to finish it off.

Beautiful Swaps

 

A couple of days later than promised but here are the pictures of the wonderful swaps that I received at the Leeds Training event. These will make a great additiion to my inspiration boards. A big thank you to all of the lovely ladies that swapped with me!

Had a great day...

Yesterday I had a wonderful day at the Stampin' Up! Regional Training event in Leeds. The day was full of excitement and we got to play with some of the new products from the upcoming mini catalogue. I'm not allowed to share just yet...but you are going to love it!!!

I love going to events with other Stampin' Up! demonstrators, they are always so friendly and brimming with inspiration. One of my favourite things at these events is the chance to 'swap'  with other demos.

Here is the card that I took along to swap, I made it in four colourways. Sorry that the picture isn't the best but I was rapidly losing light. The daffodils were made using the flower accent stamp and 1" circle punch. I also used the beautiful 'Just Believe' stamp set.

 

 

I received some amazing cards and 3D items in return and will show them to you over the next few days.

To finish off here is a great picture of some of my downline, Brenda (my newest team member), Sharon (Lisa's downline) and Lisa at the training event. Also on our table was a really lovely demo from North Wales, Claire. Unfortunately I didn't get a pic of Claire but you can take a look at her blog here.

 

What could be better than spending a fabby day with such lovely ladies, I LOVE MY JOB!

February's All Day Event

On Sunday, Sharon, Lisa and myself were joined by 24 wonderful ladies for the latest of our all day events at Hethersett Village Hall. I love these days as they are filled with so much laughter, fun and of course crafting! It sounds a bit gushy but Sunday was really refreshing for my soul and I am really looking forward to our next event in May! Thank you to everyone that came along and made it so special.

This session was all about cards and Sale a Bration. Each attendee received the versatile Flower Accent stamp to take home and we showed them different ways to use it. We 'kissed' and 'reverse kissed', heat embossed, distressed and even made a butterfly using the flower.

 

As promised here are the measurements to start with when making panels using the scallop trim border and corner punches (used on the rosette card):

Square Mats

 4 3/4"       will give 10 Scallops on each side 
 4 1/4"       will give 9 Scallops on each side 
 3 3/16"     will give 8 Scallops on each side 
 3 1/4"       will give 7 Scallops on each side 
 2 7/8"       will give 6 Scallops on each side 
 2 3/8"       will give 5 Scallops on each side 
 1 15/16"    (Using only corner punch) 

Rectangle Mats

A few examples are:

3 13/16" x 4 3/4"
3 1/4" x 5 3/4"
2 7/8" x 1 15/16"
