The 12 Blogs of Christmas

Lovely projects Carole, that lady has style! If you came from Carole's blog you know what I am referring to because you will be following the blog tour. If you have just started here then welcome...

Well there is no escaping it...Christmas is just around the corner. To give you some Christmas inspiration, myself and 11 other demonstrators are taking part in this blog hop - The 12 blogs of Christmas.

I love to decorate at Christmas and for me one of the most important things is a beautiful dinner table...after all we do spend much of our time here on Christmas Day! My projects today are quick and easy to make but add a little something special to the dinner table.

I am spending Christmas at my Mum's this year and have taken inspiration from her Christmas colour scheme of Teal and Silver.

Not the best pictures but it has been so grey here for the last few days.

I have used the stamp set Wondrous Gift and the colours are Taken with Teal and Whisper White.

All images were heat embossed using Silver Stampin' emboss powder.

The favour box is a very simple triangle box. The bottom trim was made with the pretty eyelet border punch. I just need to find some yummy chocs to fill it with now.

A tutorial for the candle can be found here, although it is very hard to find wax paper as the manufacturer has stopped producing it. Greaseproof paper will give a similar effect.

A trick that I found out purely by accident, if the image is looking a bit wrinkled after using the wax/greaseproof paper, just heat directly to the candle only for a split second and this will smooth out the surface again.

Here is a close up of the place card and you can see the colour alot better in this picture.

I just stamped and heat embossed the squiggly tree in silver on Taken with Teal card stock. I then cut around the image and embossed the image on the back.

Repeat this step again until you end up with two double sided squiggly trees.

Cut a slit into the top of one of the trees to halfway down, and do the same but from the bottom of the other tree. Then slot them together to make your 3D place card.

I used the star punch for the name tag, and edged it using a Versamarker the heat embossing in silver.

Again just make a slit on the botton of the star and slot into place.

I may look for some pretty glass beads to add at a later date.

Fixed it!

Please MAKE A WISH list!

                                           

I am launching my wish list again this year but with a bit of a twist...50% of the profits of any orders placed from a wish list submitted to me will be donated to The Make a Wish foundation.

Make a Wish helps grant the wishes of very ill children. It really is an amazing charity that brings a ray of sunshine into the lives of children that often spend most of their time on a hospital ward.

A bit of bling!

 

We had a great Stampers 10 meeting last week, some crafting, lots of giggles (thank you Shauny for being a good sport) but best of all fantastic company!

We had a guest this week as the lovely Carole joined us. I haven't seen her for a while and it is always good to catch up...and take a look at the gorgeous flowers she gave me...

 

Aren't they pretty? The card is from Sharon, my SU! 'grandaughter' LOL! This makes me feel kinda old but it is the easiest way to describe it! I promise to get a better picture of the card up tomorrow, it was a difficult one to get at night. It wasn't my birthday, these were to celebrate my being placed seventh in the top 25 UK demonstrators of the year. I was so excited when I found out, it was a complete surprise. I was just pleased to have been promoted to Silver 2, so this was the icing on the cake.

There is no way I could have achieved this without the hard work that the ladies in 'The Crafty Inklings' put in and of course the support of my wonderful customers. A BIG thank you to all of you. Please go take a look at The Crafty Inklings team's blogs listed on the right hand side bar, you will be pleased you did!

So Stampers 10...well we made a couple of items using the Spotlight on Christmas set and the yummy colours Sage Shadow, Really rust and Chocolate Chip. Oh and I can't forget the amazing whisper white ink, love it!

The stars were punched the covered with Versamark, heat and stick then a sprinkling of Dazzling Diamonds for a touch of Christmas bling. The image at the top is a close up of the stars, so sparkly!

  

Our second project was this cute box and you will love what is inside...

 

No sorry not chocolates but this would make a lovely gift. The tealights were so quick and easy to decorate. Just stamp onto tissue paper, punch with a circle punch then make a small hole in the centre. Place tissue paper over the wick and rest on top of the candle. Use your heat gun to melt the top layer of wax, this then seals your image into the top of the tealight.

I did a practice burn and these are perfectly ok. At first you will get a slight charred edge around the flame but then as the wax melts the tissue paper sinks to the bottom of the tealight, which is quite a nice effect.

I saw this idea here and adapted the sizes to suit my project
